Water is the source of survival for humanity for their daily activities. and because of the increase in urban population water resources are shrinking. About 97% of the water available on the earth's surface is salty and 2% of water is in the form of ice caps in the polar regions. Life on earth contains only 1% of fresh water while the demand for fresh fresh water is increasing day by day Therefore, to meet the growing demand for fresh water, there is a need to convert saltwater into drinking water to meet this need. Answering this problem, one of them is applying simple technology to process sea water into fresh water and is suitable for consumption and environmentally friendly, by utilizing solar energy, which is a basin solar still The development and research for this technology has been widely carried out in the world, all for the same purpose of increasing the efficiency of this technology.This problem can be summarized in the first is how much efficiency is the solar still basin with the design of adding solar collector panels with fins that function as heat boosters in the basin and second is the efficiency better than the design without solar collector panels with fins.The research method used is an experiment by testing two prototypes that use solar collector panels with fins and which do not use as a comparison. Data variables that were tested with statistics were the temperatures measured under the heat absorber which were then processed by the Paired Sample for Means t-Test statistical test.The results of this study concluded that the efficiency obtained from the solar still basin with the panel solar collector was 42.944% while the one without the solar collector panel was 17.197%, so there was an increase in efficiency of 25.747% better in the basin using solar panel collector
